1. Eligibility and your account

You sign in with a Google account. You're responsible for everything that happens in your account and for keeping your Google account secure.

If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must agree to these terms and supervise your use. PenPal is not for children under 13.

2. What PenPal is

PenPal is an educational tool that explains ideas with drawings, voice and questions. Explanations are generated automatically and can sometimes be wrong or incomplete, so check anything important against reliable sources.

PenPal is not a doctor, lawyer, financial adviser or any other licensed professional, and it gives no personal medical, legal or financial advice. In an emergency in the UAE call 999 (police) or 998 (ambulance).

3. Credits and payments

PenPal runs on credits: each reply from the tutor uses one credit. New accounts get free credits, and you can buy credit packs as one-time payments.

Payments are processed by our payment provider, Nomod; we never see your card details. Prices are shown before you pay, and credits are added once the payment is confirmed. Purchased credits don't expire while your account exists, and can't be transferred or exchanged for cash.

Credits are a digital product delivered immediately, so credits you have used are not refundable. If you were charged by mistake or your credits didn't arrive, contact us within 14 days and we will fix it or refund you. This doesn't affect your rights under the UAE Consumer Protection Law.

A credit is returned automatically when a reply fails before the tutor starts teaching.

4. Acceptable use

Use PenPal to learn. You may not: try to get around the tutor's rules or make it reveal its instructions or how it works inside; insult, harass, or send sexual or hateful content; ask for harmful or illegal content, or content that breaks UAE law or public morals; attack, overload, scrape or automate the service; or impersonate anyone.

Messages flagged as misuse are reviewed. We may warn you, or suspend or close your account for misuse, without refunding credits used for it.

5. Content and ownership

What you write stays yours. You give us a limited licence to process it as needed to run, protect and improve the service.

You may use the boards and drawings PenPal makes for you for personal, non-commercial learning. The PenPal name, logo, site design and software remain ours.

6. Availability

We work to keep PenPal running, but it may sometimes pause for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We may change, improve or retire features.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, PenPal is provided "as is". We aren't responsible for decisions made based on its explanations or for indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights that can't be limited by law.

8. Ending your account

You can stop using PenPal and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the competent UAE courts have jurisdiction over any dispute. If the English and Arabic versions differ, the Arabic version prevails.

10. Changes and contact

We may update these terms. After any material change we'll ask you to agree again before your next lesson.
